Hello Singles®: Terms of Service

This document serves as a binding legal agreement (the "Agreement") between you (the "User”,"Participant," or "Attendee") and Singles Dating, LLC doing business as Hello Singles ("We," "Us," or "Company"), governing your use of the Hello Singles website (hellosingles.net), mailing lists, and participation in its events (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you accept and agree to these terms.

I. User Eligibility and Conduct

A. Requirements

  1. Age: Users must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
  2. Marital Status: Participants affirm that they are legally single, available, and unattached. Individuals who are separated, in open relationships, or otherwise partnered are prohibited from attending.
  3. Accuracy: All information you provide to the Company must be truthful, complete, and accurate in all material aspects.
  4. Legal Compliance: You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations while utilizing the Services and attending events.

B. Prohibited Activities

  1. Solicitation: Attendees are strictly prohibited from soliciting, advertising, or marketing any products or services to other participants before, during, or after an event. Violations may result in exclusion from future events.
  2. Non-Compete: If you are currently, or plan to be, affiliated with any similarly competing service, you may not attend any Hello Singles event without the Company's explicit, prior permission.

II. Data Privacy and Information Handling

A. Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure

  1. Data Security: The Company takes precautions to protect your sensitive information, including credit card numbers, both online and offline.
  2. Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell or rent your personally identifying information, including email addresses, to third parties. We will not disclose private information except as required by law.
  3. Mandatory Disclosure: We reserve the right to release information if compelled by proper governmental or judicial authorities.
  4. Business Transfer: Private information may be disclosed to an acquiring entity in the event of a merger, sale, or transfer of all or substantially all of the Company's business assets.

 

B. Exclusive Use of Third-Party Ticketing Platform

​All tickets for our events are sold exclusively through the third-party ticketing platform, Eventbrite (the "Ticketing Provider"). By purchasing a ticket, you acknowledge and agree that the financial transaction, including the submission and processing of payment and sensitive personal information, is managed entirely by the Ticketing Provider and is subject to the Ticketing Provider's terms and privacy policies.

​1. Collection and Disclosure of Sensitive Information

​In the course of your transaction, you will be required to disclose sensitive personal information to the Ticketing Provider, including, but not limited to, your name, email address, and credit card number. Our organization will subsequently receive and process certain pieces of this information, such as your name and email address, solely for purposes related to event administration, logistics, and communication.

​2. Data Security Measures and Inherent Risk

​We take reasonable, commercially appropriate actions to protect the sensitive information we collect and maintain within our own website and internal systems. However, you acknowledge and agree that no digital security system is flawless or guaranteed to be impenetrable.

​a. Ticketing Provider's Security: We are not responsible for the data security measures, policies, or practices of the Ticketing Provider (Eventbrite). We shall not be held liable for any unauthorized access, loss, theft, or compromise of your personal or financial information that results from a security breach, system failure, or any other incident occurring on the Ticketing Provider's platform or systems.

​b. Our Website Security: While we strive for the highest level of security, we shall not be held liable for any loss, theft, misuse, or inadvertent disclosure of your personal information, including name and email address, that may arise from a security incident or compromise of our own website or internal data systems.

​3. Indemnification and Hold Harmless Agreement

​By proceeding with a ticket purchase, you expressly agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Company, including the officers, directors, employees, and agents of Singles Dating LLC doing business as Hello Singles, from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) that may arise from the loss, compromise, theft, or unauthorized access of your private information or credit card information due to:

​i. Any security breach or failure on the Ticketing Provider (Eventbrite)'s platform; or

  1. Any security incident, error, or system failure occurring on our own website (hellosingles.net) or internal digital infrastructure.

C. Data Sharing and Consent

  1. Matching Information: By providing your email address you grant the Company authorization to release this contact information solely to other Users with whom you are a "match."
  2. Web Analytics: Our site utilizes Google Analytics to monitor traffic, statistics, and 'click-throughs.' Google may use cookies or other technologies to compile anonymous statistics on visitors. Consult Google's privacy policy for details on its data usage.

C. Cookies

  1. Our website may use cookies for anonymous user counting. You may manage cookie acceptance via your web browser settings.

III. Liability, Warranties, and Assumption of Risk

A. No Relationship Guarantees

  1. Results Disclaimer: Hello Singles makes no representations or warranties that the Services will result in any successful "matches," future dates, or relationships with other participants.
  2. Relationship Outcome: The Company accepts no responsibility whatsoever for the outcome of any relationship that may or may not form between you and any other individual met through a Hello Singles event. The Participant, on behalf of themselves, their heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, hereby forever releases, waives, discharges, and covenants not to sue Singles Dating LLC d/b/a Hello Singles, its officers, directors, agents, and employees (collectively, the 'Released Parties') from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, costs, expenses, and causes of action, including, without limitation, for personal injury, property damage, wrongful death, or emotional distress, arising out of or in any way related to any introduction, date, or relationship formed as a result of participation in Hello Singles' events or services.
  3. ​The Participant further agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any loss, liability, damage, or cost that they may incur as the result of any such claim or suit, including but not limited to reasonable attorney's fees."

B. Waiver and Release Clause (For Attendee Terms & Conditions /Venue)

​Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability (For Event Attendees at Venues):

​Hello Singles® (Singles Dating LLC) facilitates social events held at third-party locations (venues) such as restaurants, bars, community centers, and hotels, which are not owned or managed by Singles Dating LLC/Hello Singles. All attendees acknowledge that participation in our events involves entering the venue premises. Attendees understand and agree that the venue owner/operator is solely responsible for the condition, safety, and maintenance of the property, including, but not limited to, the parking lot, exterior walkways, interior flooring, restrooms, and all fixtures.

Attendees voluntarily assume all risks related to property conditions at the venue, including risks of slipping, falling, or injury due to ice, wet floors, broken fixtures, or any other hazard.

​In the event of an accident, attendees agree to direct any claim related to the venue's condition exclusively to the management of the venue property.

Attendees hereby agree to release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Singles Dating LLC d/b/a Hello Singles, its officers, agents, and employees from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action for any injury, property damage, or death that may occur while attending a Hello Singles event at a third-party venue, regardless of whether the injury is caused by the negligence of the venue owner/operator or any other party.

C. User Responsibility and Background Checks

  1. Waiver of Investigation: Hello Singles does not conduct background checks or scrutinize the validity of any User’s background or marital status.
  2. Assumption of Risk: You affirm that it is your full, complete, and sole responsibility to perform any desired background checks or due diligence on other participants to your own satisfaction.
  3. Limitation of Liability: The Company makes no warranties or representations as to the conduct of Users or their compatibility. In no event shall Hello Singles be liable for any damages—including, but not limited to, emotional distress, bodily injury, or any consequential/incidental damages—arising from or relating to the conduct of any person or any meeting/communication resulting from the Service.

D. Indemnification and Release

  1. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hello Singles, its officers, agents, and employees from any and all losses, claims, damages, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from or in connection with your attendance at any event, the services provided, or any communication/meeting you arrange on your own volition.
  2. You agree not to initiate any claim against Hello Singles related to any social gathering or dating activity and accept sole and complete responsibility for any actions that occur during any meeting, communication, or date. These terms apply to the period of time during the event, and all periods of time after the event you voluntarily decide to engage with any attendees of a Hello Singles event.

IV. Financial Terms and Event Administration

  1. Payment Agreement: By registering, you agree to pay the Admission Fee and will not "charge back" or otherwise dispute the fee without first contacting the Company to resolve the issue.
  2. Right to Exclude: Hello Singles® reserves the right to reject or cancel your registration for any reason, offering a full refund of the registration fee (if paid) and preventing participation.
  3. Ticket Pricing/Sales: We reserve the right to set and change ticket prices at any time without notice, based on availability. No cash transactions will be processed; all tickets, including at-the-door, must be purchased electronically.
  4. Cancellation Policy: By purchasing a ticket to a HelloSingles® event, you affirm that you have read and understand the company's separate Cancellation Policy. As a company, we go to great lengths to ensure dating events have a balanced number of participants. No-shows and last minute cancellations negatively affect everyone’s experience. But we understand, life happens, so the following rules take into account life’s mishaps:
    1. Cancellation via email prior to 72-hours of the event will result in a choice of full refund or credit for a future event.
    2. Cancellation via email prior to 24-hours of the event will result in a credit for a future event.
    3. Cancellation via email less than 24-hours notice will incur a $20 processing fee & partial credit to be used for a future event.
    4. No shows will forfeit the entire ticket amount. No credit or refund will be granted. Habitual no-shows will be barred from events at the company’s discretion.
  5. Refunds: In cases where refunds have been approved, they will be processed electronically and allow 3-7 business days to receive. Refund requests that meet the requirement for full refund will receive a refund of total paid, to include Eventbrite service fees. Those paying processing fees (due to late notice of cancellation) will also incur the cost of the Eventbrite service fee. Refunds or credits will not be issued to no-shows.

 

 

V. Intellectual Property and Media Usage

  1. Ownership: Hello Singles retains all proprietary rights in the Services and all content on the website and paper materials. The terms "Hello Singles," "Spin the Bottle," etc., are trademarks of the Company.
  2. Media Consent: By attending an event, you agree that you may be photographed, filmed, or recorded and will receive no compensation for this. Images become the property of Hello Singles for use in marketing, websites, social media, and media outlets.
  3. Photography, Video, and Audio Recording Policy

To protect the privacy and comfort of all participants, Hello Singles strictly prohibits all attendees from capturing photographs, video recordings, or audio recordings of any other attendee at our events without their explicit, prior consent. We encourage everyone to be present and respect the personal space of others.

Disclaimer of Responsibility: While we actively enforce this policy, we cannot guarantee that every individual will comply. Hello Singles is not responsible or liable for unauthorized photography, video, or audio recordings taken by individual attendees during an event. By attending, you agree to this policy and understand the limits of our ability to police individual actions. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Hello Singles, its officers, agents, and employees from any and all losses, claims, damages, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from or in connection with any unauthorized photography, video, or audio recordings taken of you by another attendee at a Hello Singles event.

  1. Testimonials: If you provide a testimonial or success story, you grant us permission to use it in our marketing materials, including social media and press, without compensation to you.
  2. Errors: Hello Singles is not responsible nor liable for errors or omissions of any kind, including any misinterpretation of a User’s Match Sheet results.

VI. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

  1. Binding Arbitration Mandate: You hereby consent and agree that any and all disputes arising under this Agreement shall be decided exclusively in binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA).
  2. Arbitration Venue: All AAA arbitration hearings shall be conducted in Fairfax County, Virginia.
  3. Governing Law: The arbitrator shall exclusively apply Virginia law to the dispute.
  4. Venue for Legal Matters: The required venue for any and all non-arbitrated legal matters (if any) is Fairfax County, Virginia, USA.

VII. General Provisions

  1. Entire Agreement: This document constitutes the entire understanding between you and Singles Dating LLC doing business as Hello Singles regarding the Services and supersedes all prior representations.
  2. Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be void or unenforceable, the remainder of the Agreement shall remain in full effect.
  3. Policy Changes: Hello Singles reserves the right to change these Terms of Use or the Privacy Policy at any time without notice. It is recommended that you periodically review these documents.
